Connectum Labs Pty Ltd (trading as Celestial) is an Australian company registered in Queensland, Australia. We operate the astrology reading application available at celestialreads.app.

2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Birth data — your name, date of birth, time of birth, and city/country of birth, used solely to generate your personalised astrology reading.
- Account information — your email address and password when you create an account.
- Payment information — billing details entered during checkout. These are processed directly by Stripe and never stored on our servers. We receive only a payment confirmation and subscription status.
Information collected automatically
- IP address — used to detect your approximate location (country and timezone) for personalisation purposes via a third-party geolocation service (ipapi.co). Your IP address itself is not stored by us. Your detected country and timezone are stored against your account if you sign up.
- Usage data — basic interaction data such as reading generation events, if analytics are enabled.
- Device and browser data — standard technical information such as browser type and operating system, collected via analytics tools if active.
Location Information
When you visit CelestialReads, we detect your approximate location — including your country and timezone — using your IP address. We use this to personalise your experience, such as pre-filling your location in the reading form and scheduling personalised emails at an appropriate time for your timezone.
This detection is performed via a third-party IP geolocation service, ipapi.co. Your IP address is not stored by us. Your detected country and timezone are stored against your account if you sign up, and may be used to deliver personalised content and communications.

AI-generated content
Your reading is generated using the Anthropic Claude API. Your birth data is transmitted to Anthropic's API to produce your reading. Anthropic's own privacy policy applies to that data processing. We do not share your name or email address with Anthropic — only the birth data required to generate the reading.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To generate and display your personalised astrology reading.
- To create and manage your account.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe.
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets) via Resend.
- To improve the quality and reliability of the service.
- To comply with legal obligations under Australian law.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your birth data for any purpose other than generating your reading.
Communications
If you opt in to daily cosmic readings, we will send you a personalised email each morning. You can unsubscribe at any time from within your account settings or via the unsubscribe link in any email.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction where the GDPR or equivalent legislation applies, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contractual necessity — processing your birth data to generate readings you have requested; managing your account and subscription.
- Legitimate interests — improving service quality, security monitoring, and fraud prevention.
- Legal obligation — compliance with applicable laws.
- Consent — where you have explicitly agreed to optional processing (e.g. marketing communications, if introduced in future).
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using Supabase, a cloud database platform with servers located in the United States. Supabase applies row-level security, encryption at rest, and TLS in transit. See Supabase's privacy policy for details.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never store card numbers, CVCs, or full payment details. Stripe is PCI DSS compliant. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Transactional emails are sent via Resend. Your email address is used only to deliver system emails. See Resend's privacy policy.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. However, no system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Specifically:
- Readings — stored indefinitely so you can access your history, until you delete them or your account.
- Account data — retained while your account exists. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion upon request.
- Payment records — retained as required by Australian tax law (generally 7 years).
- Anonymous readings — readings generated without an account are retained to allow access via shared link. They are not linked to any individual.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@celestialreads.app.
7. Your Rights
Australian Privacy Act 1988
Under the Australian Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, and make a complaint if you believe your privacy has been breached. Contact us at hello@celestialreads.app.
GDPR Rights (EEA / UK residents)
If GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").

- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

8. Cookies & Local Storage
Celestial uses browser localStorage to track whether an anonymous (non-account) free reading has been used on your device. No personally identifiable information is stored in localStorage.
We may use session cookies set by Supabase for authentication purposes. These are essential for the service to function and do not track you across third-party websites.
If analytics tools are active, they may set cookies to track aggregate usage. We will update this policy if such tools are introduced.

10. International Data Transfers
Celestial is operated from Australia. Our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel, Railway, Anthropic, Stripe) process data in the United States. By using Celestial, you consent to this transfer. Where GDPR applies, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards provided by these services.
11. Children's Privacy
Celestial is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Celestial after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
